I really wish I had thought to look here on Yelp before we signed a 2 year contract with Synertel for our IT services. It has been one long nightmare. Ben the owner is very charming. Too bad he can't actually follow through on what he promises. I have yet to see a tech stay with Synertel longer than 4 months. And since either they don't keep records or the next guy doesn't bother read them, subsequent repairs can take hours or days longer than they should.

Time for which they are happy to bill! The last new guy spent 3 hours working on a work station (this meant an employee was without a computer for all that time) before he "discovered" we had roaming profiles; Something Synertel had set up and so clearly this is information the tech should have had. The profile is still screwed up from all the fiddling the tech did before he figured that out!

In the end we were charged over $700 for what should have been a 15 minute fix.(that's how long it took our new IT support guy when he came in and finally fixed the problem) I am reasonably tech savvy. (We have an IT company because I have a full time job and don't have time to maintain 3 servers and 25 workstations.) This allowed me to cry BS on some of their charges and suggestions. I would feel sorry for anyone having to rely solely on these guys for keeping their IT services running.

Synertel installed our telephone system in December 2007. I had contact with the sales rep off and on for almost a year before we made a decision and chose Synertel. I had contacted 4 companies to propose a new phone system. Three of the reps showed up and told us what system they were going to install for us. The Synertel rep was the only one that came to us, asked us what we wanted and listened to us before suggesting a phone system to meet our needs.

While the others called me almost every day asking if we made a decision, Synertel gave us the space we requested and waited for us to contact them. Once we decided to go with Synertel, their team was very efficient in giving us a plan of action - what they were to do, what we had to do, training us on the new system and made sure the transition went as smooth as possible, which it did, and we have had no problems whatsoever.

I was provided with pdf's of the phone system manual as well as a programming guide for the handsets. The first year we were on a maintenance contract that provided us with priority service for maintenance or service. We decided not to renew the service contract this year, and had to call them for service a couple of weeks ago. Without a contract, we, of course, were not on the priority list, but in all honesty, I couldn't tell the difference.

They were fulfilling our request within 24 hours. I can't ask for better service. I would highly recommend Synertel. All of their staff have been nothing but professional and accommodating whenever we have called.

Our recent purchase of a Toshiba phone system from Synertel was a great experience from beginning to end. Our sales rep, Buck was knowledgeable and professional and helped me wade through all of the data about phone systems to make the ideal recommendation. Rachelle configured our system and she was optimistic, flexible, and really knew her stuff. Rachel installed the system and trained the users -- she did a perfect job and we had absolutely no downtime. I would wholeheartedly recommend Synertel for a new business phone system.

Synertel has been the communications provider for Cole Hardware for 20 years or so. They have always been terrific to work with. Ben, the owner, knows more about telecommunications than anyone that I have met. He is also expert in the convergence of the telephone and computer worlds and merges them seamlessly. All four of our stores have systems from Synertel; Cole Street just installed a brand new one recently.

The install was done after our stores were closed which was a major plus. Synertel's staff was expert in both the installation and setting up our voice mail boxes, greetings, etc. I would highly recommend them!

I've never before experienced a company that was so incompetent at providing a service. Not only do their phone and internet systems have tons of problems, frequently, but they also have horrible customer service. They often don't return phone calls, and whenever they do get on the phone, they never know how to fix the problems. When they send techs out, they don't seem to know what they are doing.

The project manager people don't present options clearly, and don't set up systems in a logical manner. In our case, they misrepresented the system they were selling us, and then were happy to charge $100s more to change it. I would recommend going with Synertel only if you are in need of extra headaches and hiccups in your business.
