Jeff and Kay Leist began Microworx in 1994 when they started offering computer sales and service to the Greater Rochester Area. Through their ownership, Microworx grew to become a trusted name in the Rochester IT industry. Having served the Rochester community for 28 years, the Leists retired at the end of 2021, after selling the business to another Rochester business owner, Ron Bittner.

Staff has attitude problems! Called them the first time, call was answered by this person named Kevin, who seemed very uninterested and was promised I would hear back from them about a motherboard change for a desktop. They never got back to me. I thought fine, they might have forgotten due to a lot of customers. Second call, a nice gentleman noted my requirements and promised to follow up. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back again.

I called the third time and Kevin answered again and said there was no record of my inquiry and that THEY HAD MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES TO ATTEND TO AND THEY WOULD GET BACK WHEN THEY HAVE TIME. I can't fathom how on Earth they can make a customer feel like their issue is less important and I was just stunned. They could have just respectfully said that the waits are long and our technicians are currently working on orders ahead of me.

I took my business to Pod Computers instead and got my beautiful custom build done there perfectly and was treated with care and respect. Learn to treat your customers respectfully, no matter the scale of their request!

Walked in to buy a cpu cooler a week ago. Besides the fact that it cost literally twenty dollars more than online, I waited for someone to check me out for ten minutes during which time I heard an employee flat out lying to a customer to sell a license for Webroot Antivirus which the customer absolutely didn't need. Giving false information to a customer about Windows Defender.

When someone finally came to ring me out, I set the cooler down on the counter and took my wallet out and this lady just literally stared at me for thirty seconds. Finally, I said "isn't this a store? I'd like to buy this" she responded with "Sorry, I didn't see you." I don't mind paying a mark up to buy local but this mark up is ridiculous especially if this is the kind of service you're going to receive. I had a few other things to purchase but after that experience, nah no thanks.

Simply the best. Very accommodating, professional, knowledgeable and know how to fix things. I've been using them for 27 years to build multiple computers, sell me appropriate accessories and fix things microsoft updates ruined, along with virus removal. No need to go anywhere else

They did nice work in a reasonable time frame and at a reasonable cost. And they didnt try to up-sale me for something I didnt need for a repair i brought it. Because of that, when i need a new machine, i'll go to them instead of Best Buy, etc.

Two different times over the course of a week they received calls wanting to buy a new system. And no call back for over a week after the first call. I have built MANY systems from thier business as well as bought many parts over the many years. I guess the little guy doesn't matter now that have gotten big. I'll take my business elsewhere.

This group is amazing! I've had a lot of different computer issues over the years, including a hard drive crash. They have always solved every problem and can explain what's going on in a language the ordinary person can understand. The prices are great too! I'd never buy another computer from anyone other than them. For about the same price, you can get a computer built to your specifications. So why order one online and have to try to figure it out yourself? Definitely recommend 100%!

We needed to have my laptop looked at as it's internal camera:web cam was being wonky. So my husband looked online and found this spot. A few things to know.they are not open on Saturday and due to COVID-19 they may only have one tech available. So it shares a doorway with an eye doctors office. I believe you need to ring a bell. They are open from 9-5 but check their website or whatever.

Staff is efficient, friendly.but of course there is that. thing is I think certain things were not correctly articulated to us regarding a new internal web cam. I understand with Covid things will take time but we could not be waiting almost two weeks to get my laptop back. Unfortunately the part was not available any place in the area so it had to be ordered from China.

This part about that and how long it would take to arrive was not easily available so luckily they had a external webcam to use with our laptop. Thing is I wished we were called to say hey, we could not get you a local internal webcam if we knew that. I'd give a five star review. during these trying times we all need a working laptop. I do recommend them as they are professional and showed up how to use everything but the way things were dealt with was kind of a bummer. Yes I went to the business this is first hand knowledge ok. They have shared parking and they gave us a free mouse pad that was cool. Give them a shot. 4.5/5

Just had Microworx fix my screen and digitizer. Great work. Great communications. Friendly customer service and fast work. Got it back in less than 10 days (had to order the part). You can't go with Microworx.

I just had an outstanding experience at Microworx, In this pandemic situation, my laptop malfunctioned. Within a day of calling, Jeff at Microworx had it diagnosed and attended to, even returning it to me the same day I dropped it off. Thank you, Microworx! Staff was very kind, informative, and willing to help. I came to Microworx, because my Dell Inspiron (touch screen) was cracked. Although I decided not to buy a replacement screen, because the price of it would have been just about half of what the laptop was worth (it's very difficult to find replacement screens for my laptop), they were still helpful and gave me lots of options for what I could do moving forward.

I would like to update my prior review to reflect on Microworx and it's commitment to service excellence. The owner of Microworx contacted me after reading my Yelp review of my first experience with his business. I spoke to Jeff by phone and explained to him in detail as to what my on going issue were with the computer. I set up an appointment with Microworx to try one more time to resolve my issues.

I am now completely satisfied with the results and the Microworx staff did a great job of getting things up and working properly for me. I certainly wish we could have taken care of this right the first time but I also understand that its a machine and that these machines break down from time to time. It happens. I am happy to say now that I would recommend Microworx and I give them 4 Yelp stars. I look forward to doing business with them again in the future.

During a recent multi-city trip in New York, I managed to drop my computer's power cable somewhere between NYC and Rochester. Leary of the Big Box stores, I saw the stellar reviews for this place on Yelp. All I can say is that the reviews are well deserved. I came in, they were able to quickly find a compatible cable, and I walked out with a new cable, a now functioning laptop, and a smile. All in less than 5 minutes. Total cost: $5. If I lived in Rochester, this would be my go-to computer shop.

If you need your computer serviced, or are looking to purchase equipment, this is the place to go. The owners, husband-and-wife, run a tight little operation. They offer quality goods and stand behind them. We use their services at our small office, and they maintain our server and our network, our Wi-Fi, and all the specialized software that we use.

They also have walk in service, and maintain my home computer in tiptop condition, which is necessary these days, as you will invariably get a virus, no matter how careful and Pristine you are in surfing the web. Their prices are competitive, their staff is friendly, and their service has always been perfect. It is a pleasure to do business with this business.

I have brought PCs and laptops to Microworx on 3 occasions for cleanup and repairs and each time they have done an outstanding job at the quoted price. I've talked with the tech directly who did the work and he explains clearly the opinions for a very old pc that is not our newest and we decided to use it until it dies for non-critical use and not put lots of money into it. No pressure to do or spend more. Highly recommended them.

Went here recently to purchase a cable for my laptop and they had exactly what i needed. i didn't feel pressured to buy anything else and everyone was super friendly. i learned that they do computer repair and virus cleanup too so i will keep that in mind if i have any problems instead of going to any big box places.

One of the mainstays of the Rochester computer scene, Microworx has a well deserved reputation for delivering a quality product & providing excellent service. They're a go-to resource for me & I refer customers to them constantly. Very trustworthy, which is a trait sadly lacking in other local VARs.
