Microchips Etc

It saddens me to leave this review of Microchips as I have referred customers to them for many years, now (I am also in yhe tech industry and am very often asked who I recommend for computer work). However, my latest experience has been so poor that it warrants it. I left my laptop with them about two weeks ago. The screen is damaged and I wasn't sure if the internal components (hard drive, etc.) had been damaged as well.

I was told I would get a call back with information and a price to repair in 24hrs. Fair enough. After a couple days I hadn't heard back so I called. After a couple call backs I finally got a price for repair. I wasn't sure if I should spend that to repair or just purchase a new one so I asked for a quote in a new one. I've called and the guy who was giving the quote hasn't been available. 2 weeks have gone by and crickets.

I cringe to think others I have sent to Microchips may have been treated this way. I'm not sure what has changed, but talking to others it sounds like this has been a trend. They used to be a great company, but now, I won't be referring any more customers to them. Sad.

Mixed review on this company: We had a computer issue. They fixed it and told us they would not lose any of our files. However they missed a lot of files including all our photos. When I called, they did work to recover a lot of the lost photos and videos but in the end not everything was recovered.

Great local business! Less than what I would have spent online for both the part and the install. Another reason to do business locally! Great job!

Hours posted online say 830am. Waiting around until a little after 9 before giving up.

Amazing work! We spent a lot of money on hp repair service and in the end hp couldnt deliver. This company understood what we needed and went above and beyond our expectations!
