Service was very rude and cut me off mid sentence before I could explain anything. Never coming back.

There is a reason this place has such low reviews. I brought a computer in to have a part changed out. I was told if they had the part in stock it would be ready the next day. If they didn't, and had to order the part, it would be early the following week. Well early the following week came and went and I decided to give them a call. They told me they had to order the part and would call me when it is finished.

A couple more days went by and I followed up again. Wasn't my computer suppose to be ready earlier this week? The guy on the phone got all annoyed and told me the part wasn't expected to arrive for another MONTH! He totally neglected to tell me that it would take this long and if I knew that were the case I wouldn't have left it there to begin with. Extremely unprofessional and poor communication. I picked up my computer and left. No thanks.

I had a terrible experience getting my laptop repaired. I knew it needed a new fan and told them so. It took them ten days to get around to LOOKING at my laptop and determining that, surprise, it needed a new fan. By the time they ordered, received, and installed the fan, I had spent three weeks with no laptop. I will never go back.

I took my computer here just to have it cleaned. He had my computer for two weeks' I picked it couldn't wait to get home and it out. My computer was super slow and I was missing programs that came with the computer. So a hundred thirty some dollars later the laptop computer was worse than when I took it. Bottom line this guy is a crook don't go there take my advice n I wish I could give him 0 stars. Ps I had to still pay again to have my computer fixed right.

How can they be that bad? YES they really are that bad! I brought in a 2 year old laptop for repair and was told I would be called the next day. They never called. I called 2 days later and was told they were close to fixing it and they would call me in a few hours. They never called. There is theme here.and this went on for 2 weeks with me calling them saying they would call back and then ZERO contact - NOTHING and NO repair of my laptop either but they charged me a "diagnostic scam fee".

I will disputing it on my credit card and telling everyone how horrible this place is. End of the story. I brought it to a shop in Arlington Heights who called me every day with an update and repaired the unit in 2 days. They are 911 Tech Repair if anyone is curious.

Bought an item from Amazon that did not arrive. Seller was contacted four times, waited over a week, and they never contacted FedEx to start a trace. Poor business and communication.

It's a computer thrift store and random junk is kinda everywhere. There's like a huge section in the back which they seem to just stack random things and computer part boxes. Their selection is okay. They have low to mid range laptops and some decent computer cases. They also have some nice startech products and expansion slots for your computer. They have some gaming graphics cards like the 1050 ti and a couple of motherboards.

I think they're a bit overpriced, like the GTX 770 is around $300 despite being close to the 1050 ti (although, they don't sell well online either). There was only one guy who worked there. He didn't know the price of something so he had to call the owner and tell me. He kinda just stood next to me the whole time and didn't say much.

Just ordered a GTX 1080 SC from Walmart, will edit this review to a 5 star if everything goes well. Wish me luck because I'm already terrified from the reviews.

I use my laptop all the time and noticed the lid was in disrepair but continued to use it but when my laptop would not boot up, I was lost! My life is in that thin plastic! I looked for computer repair shops in the area and just happened to drive by Computer Brain. I took my laptop in and it was repaired in about a week and just like new! I am now backing up important files but I now know where to go in case of tech emergency!

Came in with a laptop hardware issue I wanted them to check out, gave them the pw to access the user and they told me to wait for a week to fix. 5-6 days later I call them up to check how things were and they decided then to inform me that the password is wrong. Didn't even bother calling earlier to tell me the password is wrong and needed me to give it again, Hell if I know when they were gonna bother to even call me up about the issue. Had to wait another 3 days for them to "fix" I asked to check on my hardware since I knew the issue was there not a program issue and they did squat.

They said they fixed the issue, barely even telling me what the hell the problem was and paid almost $130 when they took it in. Oh and guess what? problem still persisted, thanks for taking my money and doing nothing and not even bothering to explain it either. Go to the other computer store nearby people or PLEASE go to computer tech forums, People will gladly help you for free unlike these idiots who take your $ and then sit on their asses doing nothing.

. the best computer support and knowledgeable tech heads I have met and worked with in a long time; fairly priced for what they deliver, above-and-beyond selling you a piece of hardware and software. over two months they assembled a new Win10 mini tower for me, flawlessly; cleaned up and updated an older Dell laptop Windows Vista laptop to run Win10, correctly, cleanly and efficiently; saved my main Win7 'legacy' mini tower from the foibles and incorrect suggestions of Microsoft support line in a timely, efficient, logical and fairly priced 'time is of the essence' support offering.

I worked primarily with Al and Sam; they outlined clearly issues involved, suggested alternatives. They and their support staff were friendly, professional and calm throughout the good and bad of getting things to work --- and they did, get things to work.

I don't have the option of giving them 0 stars but we bought a motherboard that had a 1yr guarantee but after 2 days of owning it computer brain refused to refund my money, exchange it or send it out to be fixed. They were very rude people and didn't appreciate my business and left me $200 in the hole for buying a broken motherboard there that supposedly worked. I don't recommend buying anything there or getting anything repaired there. Your best bet is Micro Center.

Came to work to find out my computer would not run. I discovered the mount that holds the cpu fan broke. I called and asked if they had the part and they said come over and we will try. Try they did! It looked like I would need a new motherboard (this computer is 5 years old). They found a new motherboard with the correct mount and swapped the part onto mine. All fixed! And the cost was less than finding a new motherboard! Very friendly owner. Thanks guys!

They dont even deserve 1 star, Brought a server computer in and could not express how urgent the issue was. The guy said he was going to run a 5 hr test on it and call me back the next day around 12 pm. I called them and the guy says he didnt even start it and it could take 2 to 3 days before he gets to it and I never told him this was an urgent issue, I must of had a 20 minute talk with this guy telling him how urgent this matter was. Very unprofessional and very rude. I told him I have to come pick up the computer because this is an urgent issue needed to be taken care of right away and he hung up on me.

The one star was given due to the fact that the cashier was quite friendly. This store has an insane amount of markup on their products' compared to even other stores such as Best Buy or various online retailers. For example. an Nvidia GTX 750 (non-TI) was $200, which is incredibly expensive in comparison to the TI version (which is a fair bit better) that costs $140-ish on Newegg. I'm not privy on the equality of their repair service or technicians, but if you're computer part hunting locally, I advise you to visit MicroCenter or somewhere else.

Overall, I have had two experiences with these guys and for almost all parts, they were very positive. They charge a flat fee for labor upfront, which I appreciate because something may be more laborious than another and I'm not tied into paying extra for something that takes 20 hours. The staff is nice and pretty knowledgeable, at least from what I know about my computers.

One thing I didn't like though, is that I decided to buy a laptop just to have as a back up while mine was being fixed and if things ever happened again. I don't know much about computers but they told me they had a good deal on one and sold it to me. I've found it to be extremely slow. Usable, especially in a pinch and maybe for basic work, but impossible to use for recreational use, like surfing the net while listening to a music video on YouTube, etc The thing I like the most about these guys is their punctuality.

It wasn't there idea, but I asked them if they could try and get overnight shipping on the part I needed so I could get my computer back faster and they said they would try. The first problem they couldn't the issue about 6 months later, they could. It was their idea to look for used pieces that could save me money. Both times I used them they estimated the time it would take to complete and both times they had it done sooner.

They called promptly and told me it was ready and I could pick up. The staff is nice, you pay at the counter and I was happy that both times I was able to get my machine back promptly.

Do *NOT* trust this company. They will sell you an item and then give you something else. Bait & Switch! They will also call and harass you on the phone and by emails and tell you that you were wrong. They will not acknowledge their mistakes even though you have an invoice from them showing what you actually purchased from them.

I have never been treated so rudely in my life. After dropping off my older computer for repair it was suggested that I purchase a flat top monitor at $69.00. When I came it to pick up my supposedly repaired computer I was amazed that the price had now changed to $79.00. This is not the issue.the issue is that I was told that I was never told that the price was 69.00 and that I was totally wrong.

This guy was arrogant about it and rude beyond belief. I should have walked out and left my computer but no. I foolishly stayed. This also happened to the price on used monitors from 20.00 to 25.00 and told I was wrong on the quote. Seeing my computer work properly in the shop was satisfying enough for me to just pay the bill and never ever come through those doors again.

Now that the unit is at home it does not recognize my mouse or keyboard so the monitor does not work. What did they do? I rarely am disappointed in service to the point of posting a review online but this place warrants such action. If there was a score less that one star these guys would qualify. Tomorrow i am calling the bank and cancelling payment and going to CDW where professionals are. Do not go to Computer Brain if you have any brains at all.

I took a laptop in for a repair. Although I had called ahead of time to make sure it would be ok, they made it clear they were not happy that I pulled the hard drive before bringing it in. The problem was that the laptop would not power up at all so the hard drive was not necessary. I brought in the laptop on a Saturday. I was promised a call with an estimate that day or Monday.

I received no call that week so I stopped in when I was in the neighborhood the following Saturday. The person at the repair desk said a lot of people had been out, he was about to look at my laptop, and definitely would call that day or Monday at the latest. When I had received no call by Tuesday, I called to arrange to just get the laptop back. They made an attempt to get me to give them another hour to work up an estimate but did not give me a hard time when I refused. Overall, I cannot rate the work because I did not end up getting any done.

I ended up losing about a week and a half but it was not a huge problem. If it had been, I would have pushed harder. This business may just be overworked and/or disorganized.

No stars is what I say! DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. They don't honor a sales order mistake or even acknowledge that there was a mistake on pricing one of their items on their website. I placed an order for what appeared to be a ligit price ($75) for an additional hard drive for my computer. I received an email confirmation, they took my credit card information but NOTHING ever happened.

I checked back a month later to see where my shipment was and it said "cancelled". NO EMAIL FROM THEM THOUGH. There's too many other discount web sites to order from. Click once, click twice and go to a site where customer service means something to the store!
